Thank you for donating! 100% of essential household items go directly into the homes of clients in need in the Roanoke Valley. We keep your contributions in the Roanoke Valley area. Your donation is tax-deductible; a receipt will be provided at the time of donation.
Step 1: Gather your items
Donations are connected directly to families in need, so please review your items to ensure they are suitable for St. Joseph’s Furniture Closet. Disposal of items we cannot give to families costs us money that we would much rather use to support our neighbors in need.
Step 2: Get your donations to St. Joseph’s Furniture Closet!
You can schedule a delivery by calling 540.344.9814 or by emailing [email protected].
Deliveries will be accepted at 5 MADISON AVE NE (NOT THE CHURCH). Please call ahead before delivery to ensure the donations are appropriate for our program and to be sure someone is available to accept the items: 540.344.9814.
Step 3: Get your donation Receipt
Your donation is tax-deductible at the fair market value of each item. Please request a donation receipt at the time of your donation.
We provide gently-used household essentials and furnishing to families and individuals in the Roanoke Valley. Clients must be referred to us by one of our referral partners, as we only schedule clients referred to us by our partners. Items are provided based on need and the inventory available at the time of the appointment.
Currently our referral partners are the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Keystone Community Center, Commonwealth Catholic Charities, Blue Ridge Women's Center, Blue Ridge Behavioral Health, Intercept Health, Family Promise, CarePortal, Veteran Affairs, New Horizons Healthcare, Trinity Support Services, RAM House, Total Action for Progress (TAP), Roanoke City DSS & HAT, Roanoke Housing Authority, and Roanoke City Public Schools.
If your agency or group would like to become a referral partner, please contact Aimee Valenzuela at [email protected].

In support of the St. Joseph’s Furniture Closet, the Diocesan Office for the Propagation of the Faith has awarded St. Andrew’s a $1,000 grant. This grant was made available through the CRS Rice Bowl Grant Fund. In addition, we were awarded $3000 from the Fuel and Hunger Fund. These funds and others like them are available to us due to the generosity of the people of the diocese and St. Andrew’s parishioners. Thank you!
