Building the Kingdom of God,
One meal at a time.
7Loaves serves any and all of our Basilica of Saint Andrew Parish members. If you or anyone you know is facing a challenging time, be it a joyous occasion such as the birth of a child, or a somber season through illness, surgery or the loss of a loved one, 7Loaves is ready to serve. We prepare and deliver 3 dinners on dates determined by the family or individual.

The spirit of this ministry comes from Jesus, but it flows right through the heart of St. Martha, Mary's sister, who served and cooked dutifully so that others could sit at the feet of our Lord.
When there is a birth, or death, or illness in a family, those things and the stresses around them can keep us from the peace, rest, healing or joy that God is calling us to at that moment. Sometimes we also forget that the Church is our family too; a family that wants to care for us through these times.
That spirit of Martha seeks to ease the burden of the family by providing a few meals, connecting in fellowship and taking the concerns of that family to the Lord in prayer. Matthew 15:32-38
Through the work of our hands and heart we can help others
rest in the Lord during even the most challenging of times.

It is fun, easy and a great way to meet fellow parishioners while fulfilling a very important need in our parish family!
The mission of 7Loaves is to act as the hands of Jesus in building the body of Christ within our parish and strengthening the loving Spirit of our Church.
Therefore, we, the ministers of 7Loaves, commit ourselves to provide meals, a caring visit and prayerful support of parish members during life's challenging times.
In striving to fulfill these commitments, we pledge ourselves to give freely of our gifts as we respond to Christ's call.
7Loaves is a lay ministry of parishioners who would like to help other parishioners during challenging times by providing a meal, brief visit and prayers. 7Loaves is headed by the chair, Elizabeth Kent and co-chair, Ashley Nogueira, who coordinates the volunteers and interfaces with families and staff members of the parish.
Through MealTrain.com, volunteers view the details and sign up to bring a meal. Each volunteer who has signed up will take a meal at the coordinated time, check in with the family and visit for a few minutes, if that is appropriate to the situation. As a community, we lift up that family and their special intentions in prayer.
Members are provided with all the needed details including any food allergies, the number of people in the household, meal suggestions, etiquette guidelines for special situations, etc.
As part of a growing group, the meal commitment will not be more than once a month for any individual. We do ask that you participate at least twice a year as your schedule allows. Bringing a dinner for a family does not have to involve a lot of work on your part; a delicious store bought item is just as welcome as a homemade speciality.
